Treatment

                                                                          Treatment

  • The video we are going to make will feature different teenage cultures to represent different teenagers. The video will represent these three main cultures of punk, urban street and glamorous lifestyle by using costumes, activities and location featured in our video.
  • Each teenage culture will have its individual location and costume to distinguish the difference between the other two teenage cultures. The video begins with a long shot of the model (Sonika) sleeping in her bedroom and looking at the surrounding you can see drinks, clothes and cups on the floor to show she is a party girl and her glittery clothing also shows her glamorous style.
  • We want to film our  narrative video with a sense of a story telling. Because it focuses on  spending a day with a teenager and what she does in her free time. To show this we will use different editing for different cut scene such as slide, drop and fade to make it more lively to emphasize a story.
  • This also makes it interesting for the viewer because we want to avoid a reality feel with no editing on the cut scenes. The spine of the video will be Sonika's performance as she dances along to the song and also with some break dance performers. We are using break dance because its a new teenage street dance to give prominence to the youth culture which can be seen in bothe Pop genre and Hip pop genre.
  • The lyrics will not be performed as a dialogue but there will be some links between the visual and lyrics for example when she spins her hand to show a link with the lyrics saying "...spinning..". we are going to dramatize some of the activities the artist is involved in by using effects such as slow motion and close up to show the happy facial expression of the artist hanging out with her friend playing basketball.
