CD cover analysis

CD cover analysis
We researched similar artist CD/Digipacks such as Rita Ora and Jodie Connor to analyse the codes and conventions. This gave us ideas for designing our own digipack

The front cover

Artist: Rita Ora
Album: Ora
Genre: Pop

  • On the cover of the album there is a close up picture of the artist's face staring into the camera. This shot is used to emphasize her attractive face and who she is. Its also attracts the audience because you get a clear view of her face and she can also attract the male audience.
  • The camera angle is slightly at a low angle as you cant see the top of her head, this can connote her slight superiority looking up to her because of her looks and identity being a artist.
  • Her posture shows her feeling her hair and covering the side of her face connotes she is quite flirtatious because girls are associated with flirting when they are playing or feeling their hair. This attracts female and male young audience who also like flirting.
  • At the same time it can also connote that she is a bit shy because she is covering the side of her face with her hand which portrays her quite innocent. This can reflect her teenage girls target audience for because they are young and innocent.
  • Her body language portrays her as modest and feminine as you can see her shoulders pulled closer to her face to show her feminine small body fitting in the small frame. This is also common with super models who want to look skinny rather than broad or big.
  • She is seen wearing light make-up in this cover and as well as in her music video. Although its in black and white its harder to notice any make up.
  • The artist doesn't want to emphasize wearing make up because she wants to portray herself as natural or pure. This can also reflect how she wants to influence her teenage audience to want to feel naturally attractive without heavy make-up.
  • She is wearing a strong colour lipstick which i cant tell what colour because the cover is black and white but i strongly believe its red lipstick because she carries a similar make up style in her music videos and posters for example "Hot Right Now" video. The red colour stands for romance and some possible sexual appeal.
  • Her eye brown are picked so its looks finer and portrays the artist as elegant and enticing but she is not over the top with heavy make up.
  • The artist hair is naturally curly and blond, this hair style also connotes her style as captivating although its her natural hair style. She may have used her natural hair to convey she is naturally born to be a stylish pop artist. This style also is associated with fun, stylish, hot and reflects how she wants to portray herself.
  • you cant see what clothes she is wearing but the audience can see she will be wearing something revealing some flesh because her shoulder is exposed and some upper chest area. This portrays her style as quite sexy because she may be showing cleavage in her cover and music videos but doesn't dress promiscuously to get the male attention.
  • You cant see the background because her hair is in the way but you can see that the bright light reflecting of her face is coming from the camera flash that is commonly used by professional cameras or photographers which gives the impression the artist is special or a model. The watch on her wrist is shining and looks like precious metal which shows the artist is luxurious more simple.

Back cover

  • On the back cover the artist is still shot at close up and medium close up to dwell on her pleasing looks but there are many small portraits scattered on the back cover. This give a feel of shattered glass with pieces on the floor because of the sharp edges
  • This can reflect how the artist wants the audience to view her from different perspectives. Its pointing out that she is not just one character and there's more about her than just what the world may know her as the artist
  • Some shots are closer up because the artist want to show her facial expression such as the top right picture and the medium left. They are both the opposite of each other because one shows her smiling showing her happy side and the other shows her serious. Its mixed emotions is telling her audience that she is also like them and gets angry and life isn't always great. This can bring the audience closer the the artist.
  • Some of the pictures shows the artist posture like she is modelling and posing for the camera like the top two pictures on the left. Its backing up her identity as an attractive artist who likes to model.
  • The picture on the far right shows the artist touching her face and almost kissing into nothing and her glasses shows the reflection of camera lights. This shows her embracing her looks and showing love by blowing kisses to her audience.
  • Like in the front cover the artist avoids heavy make up and she keeps her natural curly hair the same.
  • On the front cover we couldn't see the artist clothing but like i have guessed it would be something showing cleavage, here in one of the back cover pictures she is wearing a corset and feeling her hair giving a seductive look to her audience. This indicates her personality as quite erotic but the other pictures show her dressed modest and glamorous with her glittery shiny neck-less's which out weight's her erotic appearances. Her sunglasses are classic white which can also depict her style as quite vintage but stylish at the same time.
  • The background of the back cover is black which can represent her mysterious past as it contrast her bright presents in her photographs.
  • Her song titles are in bold red capital to stand out from her black and white cover but the red also matches her common red lipstick she wears in almost all her music videos. This again represents her vanity and erotic side which is less seen. Red can also stand for rage and passion as she is passionate about her music.

 BREAKTHROUGH

MARY. J. BLIGE

  • It is common for  artists  to want to attract a particular target audience or other consumers by creating inspirational music videos or videos people can relate too, This artist is called Mary J Blige an American RNB and Pop artist. This album title is the breakthrough which people can relate to or feel inspired by the title.
  • The font on the album cover shows the artist name and initials which is written on the cover very simple and very small which could indicate its more emphasis on her face and beauty.
  • The main colour on the album is Blue and white which makes her appear more clear and attractive  and the hair style is very mature from her previous album covers and ear rings are very glamourous. The front of the cover shows a close up of the artist which is meant to appeal to a more mature target audience. The close up is also meant to advertise and promote the artist.
  • That the album cover is aimed at a more older target audience.
  • The Majority of her fan base and her target audience  range from 21-38 which are mainly female adults.
  • This album shows also shows the songs on the album and the names of the features on the back of the album cover.

BACK COVER

  • This image is a long shot which shows her being confident in her gender and her class. Which shows power and style.
  • This CD cover is very influential in terms of my idea development because on her CD cover she used close ups of the artist  face. I feel this is a camera shot i will like to use to advertise and promote my artist and her style.

MAGIZINE COVER

  • This is the magazine cover it also portrays the artist the same way as the CD cover its still mature     and confident poster of the artist.

Jodie Connor

  • The purpose of a CD cover is to persuade consumers to buy the product this is often done by putting an attractive CD cover in order to catch the eyes of the consumers an if the artist is mainstream consumers would automatically buy the product however for the less mainstream artist they would have to advertise effectively. The CD cover I am going to analyse is an artist called Jodie Connor who is slowly making it in mainstream market.
  • The CD covers main picture is of the artist itself the shot angle that is used is medium shot only showing the top half of the body this shot may have been used in order to attract male attention and she is also wearing a low top but also with a hooded top, the camera angle is slightly low angled this maybe used to show that the artist powerful as she also has a smile on her face.
  • The body posture/language tells us that she is standing up top half of body is revealing as she is wearing a low top relaxed looking up with a cheeky smile may indicate that she is being herself without anyone telling her what to do. However the make up of the artist seems to be light the only feature stands out is the lips as it only shows light lipstick this may suggest that she is showing her true beauty and that makeup isn't always needed to make you look attractive.
  • The hair of the artist seems to be black but it’s covered by hooded top so it’s only partially shown this may indicate that the artist is down to earth as she is being herself and experimenting by wearing a hooded top to show her tomboy side and this also suggest that she is wise and bold
  • The clothes the artist is wearing seems to be a black low top but also an Adidas track top with geeky glasses, the indication of the character seems to be half tomboy half lady like and it also connotes that she is young and having fun
  • The background of CD cover is just a white brick wall, seems to be in a block or in a photo shoot as you can see white brick walls it is also edited with rays of colour this may connote happy days

Ancillary Text Research

Ancillary Text Research
Before we could design our Digipack alongside our magazine for our artist we research our similar artist to see the theme which runs through their media products.

  • I need to zoom in at the poster because her body doesn't take up the whole frame like the front cover magazine. This allows you to see the make up on her face which is very much like in her music video, CD cover and front cover magazine.
  • Her hairstyle remains the same which is jet black with a fringe. She keeps the same hairstyle through all different media text because she wants to portray herself the same and maintain her identity. This maintains her Gothic but sexy look altogether. Although its quite a long shot you can see her eyeliner coloured in black like in all three media texts. This helps her keep her mysterious look as part of her identity as an artist.
  • Jessie J likes to pose in her pictures like on the magazine front cover and the advert. This is a king of lady like or feminine pose to embrace her looks. Although she looks more brave on the advert it links with her saluting like a soldier in the magazine cover because both poses have strong and brave look/sign.
  • We can see that her clothing through all three media texts are predominantly dark or black. This shows her identity as slight gothic and sexy because of the cleavage.
  • The explosion in the background on the ad supports her brave and strong character because its a superhero convention of standing in front of explosions for example Cat-woman.

  • This magazine cover of Cosmopolitan features Jessie J on the front cover. She is an urban pop artist from England.
  • on the cover of the magazine the black font are a theme running from the artist style for example from her black hair colour, make up and costume colour. This is similar to her CD cover where its a close up picture of the artist with the same hair style and a black colour theme as you can see her black lipstick, eyeliner, nails and top. the artist has chosen a distinctive image to portray herself or her product which is a black and punk-ish look.
  • she has carried the black colour theme with the tops she is wearing on the CD cover and magazine which are both dark colour or black. She wears a dark purple and black spotted top on the magazine and on the CD cover she is wearing a black long sleeve top.
  • she keeps her make-up similarly in both her music video, CD and magazine which is light make up, black eyeliner and strong black lipstick as seen in her CD cover. This can be because she wants her teenage girls audience to not feel the need to wear make up to be attractive and she encourages natural looks as natural personality because Jessie J has differentiated her looks to other pop artists.
  • The artist also likes to wear something gold but only a little for example gold earrings as seen on her CD cover which also is also linked to her magazine cover were she is wearing gold shorts. Her CD cover also has a gold title which portrays her with some quality of glamour or richness which contradicts her punk black costume looks.

  • The close up shot on the CD cover and the close up shots in her music video is showing the audience who the artist is and how she portrays herself. its also to highlight how she portrays herself with her light make up, costume and expressions.
  • Her facial expression something used to differentiate herself because she uses animated facial expressions as she sings in her music video or relate to the lyrics. this backs up her fun characteristic and childishness which attracts her teenage girls audience because its more suitable to them.

  • This long shot shows the artist riding a yellow toddler bike which portrays her as childish and funny. This is something that appeals to young teenage girls because they enjoy to have fun and do silly things.

  • She pulls a sad face when she says "why is every body so serious, life so mysterious". She expresses her feelings but its also a in a comedian way because its not an serious sad face. This again portrays her as a characteristic fun artist.

Tulisa

For all mainstream artists it’s important to attract your potential fans or consumers by creating appealing music videos, CD covers and also magazine ads. The mainstream artist that I’m going to analyse is Tulisa I am also going to analyse her CD cover, which is called ‘Young’.

The target audience for her music are usually young urban males and females ranging between 12-22 who feel, as if they are at an age where having fun is key.

Tulisa Young Music Album:
  • ·      Background scenery looks as if its some sort of holiday, young people would usually go to Party Island such as Ibiza, Ayia Napa, Zante.
  •     The music video itself was filmed in Ibiza and the title of the music album is ‘Young’ this may try to indicate that live your life for now and worry about other issues later on.
  • ·      The smile on the artist face which is Tulisa indicates that she is happy may connote she is having the fun of her life and also her face seems to be tanned which may suggest that all young people enjoy the sun.
  •           The font and the writing on the CD is not too appealing as its only the artist name with the cover title, the artist name is written is some sort of funky way, however the album name which is ‘Young’ is in capital letters maybe to connote to be yourself and don’t worry about anyone else’s criticism.
  •        The song was made due to Tulisa being criticised for her wrong doing in the past, this song was released to send out a message that she was young back then and everything has changed as it is illustrated in her lyrics as she says “forgive me for what I have done, cause I’m young, yeah I’m young” this also sends out a message to her audience as she is trying to say whatever happened is past worry about your future.
  •         “It's just fun, it's just fun” indicate in her lyrics that messing around is all fun and also its part of every young person growing.
  •         Tulisa herself on the CD cover isn’t revealing, however you cannot she her upper body but from the shoulders audience can tell she might be dressed as being revealing, this also makes sense as the scenery seems to be some sort of holiday place it maybe Ibiza as the original music video was filmed there.
  • The shot that is used for the magazine cover is medium long shot this may have been used to show off her body and to attract male and female attention.
  • The camera angle seems to straight
  • The body posture seems to be of her slightly tilted with one hand behind her head and the other holding some sort of purple heart lollipop in that particular picture it may connote she is being herself
  • The clothes Tulisa is wearing looks similar to a low dress which come up to her thighs however this this dress covers some sort of flesh and some flesh are shown, this make indicate that she is someone that likes to have fun and the clothes that she is wearing would be worn to some sort of party, this can also relate to her music album which is called Young.

Beyonce

  • This is a advert featured in 'Vibe' magazine of Beyonce promoting her world tour. Beyonce is a international pop and RnB, singer and songwriter.
  • The main heading of the page is written in a bold black font making it eye catching. Futhermore, it is also is capital letters and situated at the top of the page. The maker of this advert uses the artist name 'Beyonce' as the main selling point, as the artist is globally popular her name itself brings audience.
  • Beyonce is known to be a glamorous artist but she sometimes also wears revealing costumes. This is way of attracting both a male a female audience. Her glamorous look attracts young females, whilst her other look attracts a male audience. This idea comes from the Goodwin theory, who believe women are portrayed as sexual objects in order to sell their music. This look crates the 'male gaze'.
  • In this advert beyonce is wearing a gold corset. The colour gold connotates fame and glamour which is commonly associated with this artist and also is appealing to her female audience. In addition, she is wearing a corset which is a garment which is related to sex which allures her male audience, because it enhances her figure.

  • This is an american female artist who was on the cover of  Solo Magazine promoting her album Breakthrough. The background colour is white which was same as her background  on  her album cover and magazine advert. This could create more emphasis on the artist costume and the message she wants to portray which could be confidence and glamorous.
  • On the cover of the Solo magazine the artist costume is very mature (dresses or hats) which is also similar to her magazine adverts and CD cover which she used to advertise her album for example her black clothing is not targeted at youths or teenage girls but at grown and mature women, the make up is not to much, she is also very sexy in both magazine cover and album cover however her cloths is not revealing in either of the magazine cover or the album cover.
  • The artist also uses her costume to appeal to the older target audience. The hat makes her appear more mature from her previous album covers. However her lip stick and make up  is similar to what she had in her music video.
  • The artist is covered up she is not too sexualised but the dress she wearing shows her thighs and the dress is a bit to tight. But the hood attached to the dress could indicate she is is still hood or ghetto all due she is rich, glamorous or successful she as not lost her ghetto roots and her success is something her target audience can aspire to.

  • Her make up is consisntly wearing light make up in both CD cover and magazine cover which could indicate shes trying to appeal to an older audience and the clean white background could also promote that which is also seen in her other magazine cover backgrounds is dominately white even in her music video.

Filming in Green room

The following week we set up the equipment's to film such as lights, fan, tripods, reflectors in the right positions to film.

  • We needed to clean the green screen floor so it was clean to film .
  • We need to be careful that the lights was not going to form shadows of the artist onto the green wall which will be a problem to edit with.
  • We also faced problems with some equipment like the lamps which wasn't turning on. Which meant we had to be resourceful and make some changes.

  • We took practice shots to see where the artist should stand oppose to the camera.
  • There was some movements of the lamps to avoid casting a shadow onto the green screen.
  • The time to film also became an issue because all the equipment use at once was heating up the extension lead so we had to be efficient with our time.

production equipment's

Production equipment's

  • When shooting this scene to use for addin's in our video this was the costume chosen for the artist. We chose this dress because its a style that's attractive but not too revealing because we don't want to sexualise our artist.
  • The gold prints shows some glamorous side of the artist but to small extent like how Jessie J only has a few gold colours in her costume like in the ancillary text analysis for Jessie J.

  • Here you can see our video recorder and the tripod. We chose this cam recorder because the quality is good and can record for long and we can easily install the tape onto the mac computers to edit and view the recordings.
  • The tripod is an essential equipment to keep the shots steady in different angles and positions when filming. For example when filming the artist from a low angle we easily adjusted the stand and lowered it.
  • When we did a 360 degree shot of the artist we also used a tripod because its more steady rotating with a tripod rather just holding the cam recorder because its wobbles and the quality turns out bad

  • The studio lights gave us more control of where we wanted light to shine and the angle of the lighting because we can also use the 4 blinds. This was crucial when we wanted the light coming from the side of the artist and when we wanted to get  an overhead shot because we needed the light coming from the top going downward.
  • Using professional studio lights allowed us to avoid creating shadows on the green screen which could badly affect the editing when there's shadows. So we had lights in front of the studio and a micro light behind the artist shinning straight on to the wall but outside our shot so its not seen.

Fan;

  • This was used for the artist clothes and hair blowing back to portray her in a fantasy and dream like way as people associate flying with dreaming.
  • Our artist looks as if she is flying because of the strong wind blowing her back. It also creates a superstar connotation because glamour models in photo shoots have fans to capture their hair blowing back.

Reflectors:

  • We used reflectors because it enhanced the light on the artist face to emphasize her looks and to put the focus on her. We also used the reflector when taking the pictures of the artist to include in our Digi pack and possibly poster.
  • It helps us control the lighting in a better way than a studio light would do because we can move the reflector really close to the artist without burning them and reflect the light in tricky angles too.

  • while shooting we took a photo of how the equipment's where all set up and then moved around for different possition's and lighting affects. Our artist is being prepared with test shots to see how its looked before carrying on

behind the scene:

  • you can see one of our team member Minhazur getting the angle ready for shooting.

  • Sonika (artist)

Treatment

                                                                          Treatment

  • The video we are going to make will feature different teenage cultures to represent different teenagers. The video will represent these three main cultures of punk, urban street and glamorous lifestyle by using costumes, activities and location featured in our video.
  • Each teenage culture will have its individual location and costume to distinguish the difference between the other two teenage cultures. The video begins with a long shot of the model (Sonika) sleeping in her bedroom and looking at the surrounding you can see drinks, clothes and cups on the floor to show she is a party girl and her glittery clothing also shows her glamorous style.
  • We want to film our  narrative video with a sense of a story telling. Because it focuses on  spending a day with a teenager and what she does in her free time. To show this we will use different editing for different cut scene such as slide, drop and fade to make it more lively to emphasize a story.
  • This also makes it interesting for the viewer because we want to avoid a reality feel with no editing on the cut scenes. The spine of the video will be Sonika's performance as she dances along to the song and also with some break dance performers. We are using break dance because its a new teenage street dance to give prominence to the youth culture which can be seen in bothe Pop genre and Hip pop genre.
  • The lyrics will not be performed as a dialogue but there will be some links between the visual and lyrics for example when she spins her hand to show a link with the lyrics saying "...spinning..". we are going to dramatize some of the activities the artist is involved in by using effects such as slow motion and close up to show the happy facial expression of the artist hanging out with her friend playing basketball.

Institutional Context

Institutional context

  • Google is a search engine used to find information and websites modified to your search at is used by the public
  • Google began in 1996 by students at Stanford University in California

  • For our production we need to get information which Google was able to provide by typing and searching on the engine.
  • Google is most reliable as it is fast and efficient and gives number of results upto a million and more
  • It have me and my group the chance to research and plan our production work and gain ideas by going onto Youtube analysing particular music video and then posting it onto Blogger in order to retrieve the highest mark as possible
  • We can also use Google video to distribute our music video online and get free reviews/audience feed back. The good thing is its easy to upload and free.
  • YouTube is a video sharing website where public are able to see the latest video at any time
  • It was founded in February 2005
  • The type of site YouTube is a video hosting service
  • Many mainstream music artist video are uploaded onto YouTube and also have their own page where you can join and subscribe.
  • It includes movie clips, TV clips, music videos, educational video etc
  • Most YouTube videos are uploaded by individuals, this give people the advantage to express ways by creating videos and also people that have some of talent can upload video which can be seen by mainstream artist, it has been said to be a way of promoting someone
  • Registered users are able to upload unlimited videos but has to follow the rules and regulations, on the other hand unregistered users can watch unlimited videos.

Target Audience

Target Audience

Age:
  • Judging from our questionnaire we found out that the age range between 14-19 was the most appropriate to target our pop music video to. This age group had the highest number for likes for the pop genre so we will target out digipack and video to that age range.
  • We also realised that in many pop music video like Cher Lloyd and Avril Lavigne that the performers and actors/actresses where mostly teenagers in this age range of 14-19. This allows our audience to relate to the music video because they may feel that they are represented in the music video. Our audience are influenced by the artist and dress in that similar style which our questionnaire shows.
  • British film and video censorship and classification wont need to give us censorship or restriction from showing during daytime TV because there is no sexual content, strong language or violence. Our video will be able to broadcast on music channels such as MTV, POP World and YouTube without warnings or age restriction.
Ethnicity:

  • Our music video is not targeted at a specific ethnic group but to a western audience who come from any background. This is because our music video will not have strong religious conventions but instead a cultural convention of western urban street, punk and glamour culture. Our casts in our music video are from a vast ethnic backgrounds such as Congo, Maritius, Bangladesh and England
  • The other reason this is not targeted at an specific ethnic group is because the conventions are more western for example the costumes, locations and activities such as clubbing, skateboarding ect.
  • We are trying to target a wide target audience by not focusing on one individual ethnicity or group of people so we will use a mixed cast to create diversity in our music video.

Gender:
  • our music video is less inviting to the male audience and targeted at the female audience because the artist is a female and the video is showing what the artist is doing through her day and representing different stereotypes of teenage girls such as punk, glamorous and tomboy style which appeal less to men.
  • Our video doesnt invite the male audience with a male gaze because there isnt any voyeuristic notion of the artist to appeal sexual. we challenged this conventions of female artist in music videos by not having voyeuristic views of her.
Social Class:
  • we are targeting teenage girls from the working class because they watch music channels that we can distribute our video such as MTV and use the internet to watch music videos on YouTube. Our cast in the music video are from working class background and the locations we will film in are in areas associated with working class for example Basketball court in a council estate, Skatepark ETC.
  • Our pricing for our CD and I-Tunes will be suitable for this class because its affordable at £7 for the album and £1 for the single on I-Tunes.
Region:
  • Our cast and locations are all in the city of London and in an urban area so we are most likely to appeal to the urban audience which we are targeting at. This is because our audience can relate with the locations such as Southbank skate park and outdoor Basketball courts because they may visit these areas often or know where they are. Other audience living in the province may also like our video because they may like the locations we are filming in and the culture of the urban street teenagers.
Distribution:
  • Youtube
  • Google video
  • Universal republic (Universal Group) -Jessie J "do it like a dude"
  • breakbeat kaos- the record lable is owned by DJ fresh who produced Rita Ora's Hot right know and also associated with ministry of sound, another UK record label which has signed the artist Rita Ora. I believe this record label is best because they specialise in drum and bass which our pop artist has mixed in her hit "Hot Right Now" song. This record lable allows us to distribute our song in pop music channels such as VIVA, Ministry of sound night club and pop radio channels

similar fans:
  • We looked at many similar artist with the same music genre to help us connote a similar message and follow similar conventions. One of the artist is Cher Lloyd and we looked at her target audience which was also teenage girls from urban cities, we found that in her music video there were other teenage girls, dressed attractively and modern, doing things that teenage girls enjoy doing during their spare time such as going to milkshake shop and driving around with friends.
  • We also found that on YouTube the suggested music video for Rita Ora's -"hot right now" had similar pop artist such as Tulisa, Jessie J and Cher Lloyd who are all pop artist and from the UK. By looking at all their music videos we found similar conventions of girls hanging out, having fun for example in a house party or driving around together.
Link: http://www.iammusic.tv/live-review-jessie-j-performs-at-mallorca-live/
  • I chose this picture because you can see a crowed of teenage girls at Jessie J concert in Majorca which is also a big city and a party island destinations for teenage holidays.
  • You can see the majority of the teenagers are Caucasian which we have included in our target audience. We are also targeting all ethnic background including British teenagers because of the similarity of lifestyle and music choice such as all background enjoy pop music and do the same activities i mentioned that are also seen in pop music videos.
http://instagram.com/ritaora#

  •  This is Rita Ora's Instagram fan page where people are able to follow her and like the pictures she has put up
  • She has 1.2million followers as you can see on the right of the pictures
  • In order for me to find our target audience we went onto Rita Ora's fan page which included Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc
  • As you can see from the picture on the bottom left, majority of followers are young teenage girls, from this research I decided that the target audience for my main product will also be young teenage girls

Sexuality:
  • we chose not to use any connotation of sexuality because we want to challenge the conventions of sexual female artist. This is because we don't want our artist to influence her target audience to feel that they must look sexual to get the male attention.
  • We are not going to try to attract a male-gaze in our music video neither a voyeuristic view of the artist. we are not targeting the male audience and don't want an unethical message to our young teenage audience
  • however we will portray our artist as attractive by how stylish modest her costume is when she is in a glamourous role which is one of the three roles she plays in our music video. The other roles are tom boy and punk characters. This can appeal to punk teenagers and tomboys but are main goal is to tell the audience that teenagers may appear different on the outside but also enjoy having fun in a similar way.
Psychographic of the audience:
  • Our target audience personality are reflected by our artist which is lively, fun and friendly. we believe this because similar artist such as Rita Ora and Jessie J act lively, stylish and fun in their music videos because they want to make that connection with their audience. Many Teenagers like to have fun and do lively things for example party and hang out with friends.
  • The majority of our target audience are likely to be in education because they are still in their teens which means they do exams and revision in education. Students anticipate the weekend so they can party and go out with friends and this links to our music because its associated with party and fun linking to the genre, lyrics and beat.
